Parking Information

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to ask for your support and cooperation with parking on the roads surrounding our school. Members of the community, particularly from Bayswater Road, have contacted me to let me know that their drives are regularly blocked by cars between the hours of 8.30-9.00 and 3.20-3.45 which has resulted in them being unable to leave their driveway. Some of them have even experienced damage to their cars. The road becomes extremely congested and there have been occasions when emergency vehicles have been unable to pass down the road.

I have also noticed issues outside the main school entrance where parents have either parked on the zig zag yellow lines or they have stopped for a short period to let their children out. This, again, causes congestion on the roads outside and it becomes unsafe for pupils and families to cross. There have also been occasions where cars turn around, just outside the gates, which causes safety issues for pupils crossing. To support with this issue, we have recently purchased road safety signs which has helped to alleviate the issue somewhat.

I would encourage families, who live in the local area, to walk to school. This would help towards solving the issue and it is a great way for our pupils to get more exercise.
